Communication, collaboration, problem solving, self-organisation and professional readiness — explained simply.

For a first job, employers rarely expect perfect professional knowledge — that can be taught. What is much harder to teach are the skills that decide whether a person is possible to work with. Here they are.
Communication
Say your point clearly, listen to others, ask when you do not understand, and speak up in time when there is a problem. Good communication at work is half the job: the team knows what you are doing, and you know what is expected of you.
Collaboration
Most work is teamwork. Taking your role, respecting other people's contribution, asking for and offering help — all of this is learned only by doing, in team assignments and real projects.
Problem solving
See the problem, break it into steps, try a solution and do not fear mistakes. Employers value not the person who never fails, but the one who draws conclusions from failure.
Self-organisation
Be on time, deliver what you promised, plan your work without constant reminders. This is the skill that shows in the very first week and shapes trust the most.
Professional readiness
Knowing the field's basic tools, understanding workplace culture, presenting yourself at an interview. This is where mock interviews and experience in real environments help.
Where to build all of this
DU EL's learning units are about exactly these skills: each completed unit earns a badge that unlocks the next step — tours, meetings, practical assignments.
